Sox fans, please don't be butt hurt whiners and trolls. You make the rest of us all look stupid. Let them have their night. Unless you're grown adults who like to heckle one another and can deal with it, don't be d-bags just for the sake of it. We had our high times in 2005. They're entitled too."
What could this mere blogger say that the baseball Ghandi himself has not? The journey for a pennant has been long for the Chicago Cubs... longer than many other leagues in the series. However, the journey for their fans has been a tumultuous one to say the least. To consistently stand by a team with such a reputation and to consistently believe that they will someday make their comeback... that's a feat of it's own. Yes, the Chicago White Sox had their run in 2005. But is their run in any way diminished by the run the Cubs are currently having? Hell no! They won! In four games! That's amazing. Now it's another team's turn. Not a team from Canada. Not a team from the West Coast. A team from our own neighborhoods. Do we, here in Chicago, turn our backs on our neighbors? No! (Well. When they take our shoveled out parking spot in 12 inch snow, then yes. Or if they don't cheer for the Hawks. But other than that, no.) Another Chicago team has earned it's right to play on a championship level. This should not divide us! It should unite us!
Whether you are a Sox Fan, a Cubs fan, or, if you're like this blogger, you've never followed baseball a day in your life, I hope you choose to don Cubby blue next week. Because no matter who the team is, they call Chicago home. And we should all appreciate that... or at least not rain on their parade.
