Today I had a panic attack while getting ready for work. This hasn't happened in awhile but nevertheless I began crying and having a hard time breathing. (I say it calmly now... When it happens it feels like the worst thing ever. But they're mildly normal for me if that's possible.)
Anyways.
My dog came in the room and jumped up on my leg. I came down to pet her and she pawed at me to hold my hand. When I stopped petting her, she jumped up, put her paws on my shoulders and licked a tear off my cheek.
She's not a professionally trained service animal, but she's my emotional support and she is always there for me.
My point is:
Get a pet. ESPECIALLY if you have anxiety or depression. Because as much as you take care of them, they will take care of you.
