We have often searched garage sales for home essentials. In doing so, we've received awesome deals on nice furniture and have either left it alone or have repainted it for a whole new look. Long story short, we are quite the frugal pair.
When it came to shopping for a sofa, we had two rules: 1) not from a garage sale (upholstered items carry bugs and are expensive to clean... not worth even the possibility) and 2) inexpensive. All the googling in the world led us to Home Reserve.
Home Reserve is super cool for a few reasons. It is renewable, meaning if you tear an armrest, you can order new fabric or foam. If you want to add a cushion to your sofa, you can order it and it'll fit right in. The greatest downside to Home Reserve, or rather, the way it isn't probably as appealing, is that it is Ikea-like in its assembly. Everything comes in large boxes and you need to assemble them yourself. Again, an advantage is that you can pick from any layout they have or create your own, however, you have to unload and put it all together yourself.
I read the blogs. We price checked. We read both sponsored and unsponsored reviews. And at the end of the day, he and I decided on Home Reserve. It only took a little over a week and a half, and the 10 different boxes were on our front porch.
It took my handsome handy man around 3-4 hours to put our sectional sofa together. As a son of a contractor, he said it was a fairly easy process, simply time consuming. The hardest and the most tedious part was being careful with the fabric.
All in all, this couch is awesome.
I really had my expectations super low considering the price and the time it took him to put together. But after sitting on it, the couch is amazing. It offers incredible support, a beautiful design, and it has really helped make our house a home.
My official review of the Home Reserve furniture systems is a 9/10. I took one point off for how ridiculously time consuming the sectional was. But as a young couple on a budget, we could have never afforded a couch that looks and feels like this without the blood sweat and tears that my soldier put into it today.
Thanks for the awesome sofa sectional Home Reserve! We might add on someday!
