I never thought anything like this would happen to anyone I ever knew. Luckily for me, I'm not morbid or paranoid like that. Of all the people I know, of all the people I've met (and I've met some shitty people) I would have never wished this upon any of them... Least of all the smiley happy guy that goes by Halex.
Halex Hale. Staff Sergeant in the Air Force. Country music aficionado. Beer pong champion. The most patriotic person I've ever met. Fan of Avengers movies. Fan of Toy Story. Fan of boots, beer, and Buckeyes. Lost in Italy.
I know I've blogged about this before. I know that to people who may not know him, the subject is old or sore. But to his small town in Indiana, to the friends he's met in the Air Force, to the friends of his friends... This subject will never be "old". With every headline, we are praying it's him, alive, and well. With every time we hit "refresh" on Facebook, we are hoping he's posted saying "Guys, I'm okay!" With every ray of sunshine, we wonder, "is it God telling me he's okay? Or am I just clinging to hope?"
But clinging to hope is all most of us can do. Hope is best. Hope is better than trying to imagine the worst, and fearing it. Hope truly IS stronger than fear. And we must keep it, treasure it, and hold onto it until he comes home.
I hope this is my last blog about you Halex. Come home already. Hale yes. #prayersforHalex #BringHalexHome
