I have heard this wonderful phrase many times in my life, but hindsight is 20/20 right? I mean, you go through these rough times, and we feel like crap during them... but it's hard to believe there's a light at the end of it.
When I lived through the events of my book, I felt as if I was never going to emotionally and physically survive my college career. Flash forward to the actual book writing, and I was having the time of my life. The hardest times certainly did reward me with my writing and all the experiences the book gave me.
I currently am in a hard time in my life right now. I am in transition at work, in transition in my living arrangements, in transition in my family... it's not easy. Is change ever easy? Where's the next part? Where is the reward?
On that note, is every happy time repayment for a sad time? Is my friend who's parents practically ditched her in her childhood due for a worry free eternity? Because she should be.
"Your hardest times often lead to the greatest moments of your life." Does this phrase also apply to our country? In a MOST controversial election year, is this hard time going to be rewarded with the country's greatest moments?
The only way to ensure that this country's greatest moments are coming is to vote. I have my own politics... I don't care to sway you one way or another. All that matters is that you get out there and exercise your rights.
It's not cosmically ensured that your hardest times will bring your greatest times. But if we do everything that we can to make certain that we are happy in the future... who's to say that those hard times won't be full of reward? If I put the time in, and adjust to these changes... happiness will come eventually. If my friend puts her past behind her and focuses on her future, she will be happy too. And if we all do what we are Constitutionally allowed to and what we as Americans are obliged to... we can be part of America's greatest moments as well.
